
In the city of Mar del Plata, a 50-year-old kiosk owner was shot and killed, and the judicial authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. According to the local newspaper La Capital, the crime occurred near the José María Minella stadium, specifically on Jacinto Peralta Ramos Avenue at 700, between Iralay Ortiz de Zárate.
The deceased merchant was identified as Cristian Velázquez, who unfortunately had fallen victim to four previous robberies. In the last attempt, Velázquez defended himself with pepper spray after a group of criminals shot at him, managing to avoid being injured. In statements to the newspaper, Velázquez expressed: "I felt that I could have been killed. The packs of gum saved me."
The kiosk owner also pointed out that neighbors were getting used to suffering robberies frequently and felt unprotected, mentioning that the feeling of insecurity is overwhelming: "There is no security." The local community is stunned by this tragic incident, and authorities continue to investigate to clarify what happened and bring those responsible to justice.
